A Generous Donation:
The inception of the Classic Car Collection dates back to 2011, marked by the generous contribution of 100 automobiles from Bernie and Janice Taulborg’s original collection.
Undergoing a transformative shift, the collection now exclusively features cars on loan, boasting a fleet of over 135 vehicles. Nearly all of these additions are freshly acquired, ensuring a dynamic rotation that guarantees a novel experience with each visit to the museum.
Our esteemed collection and facility receive meticulous care and maintenance from our dedicated team of volunteers, whose passion fuels our mission. Supported by the generosity of friends, benefactors, and the invaluable contributions of our Friends of the Collection, we continue to uphold our commitment to preserving automotive history for generations to come.
The Atmosphere:
At the Classic Car Collection, visitors are immersed in authentic vignettes, complete with artwork, mannequins, and other period items, bringing the automotive narrative to life. Through interactive displays, we seamlessly integrate technology to showcase the profound impact of automobiles on our society.
Step back in time at our recreated 1950s gas station, where vintage tools blend with modern devices, highlighting the evolution of technical prowess. Don’t miss our drive-in theater screen, complemented by the original ticket booth from the local Kearney Drive-In, offering a nostalgic glimpse into automotive entertainment history.

My wife and I stopped into this car museum to the East of Kearney and had a great couple hours, just looking over the collection. There are a lot of cars here! They are all in pristine condition and frankly there were makes and models I had never even heard of before. If you are into cars at all, I think this is a must see place.

So many classic cars to see here.. Detroit Steel. British Luxury. Brands that didn’t last long. Just an amazing place.

An amazing selection of old vehicles in great condition. The layout is very nice and pleasant to be in, with lots of other memorabilia as well. I found all the old models from now-defunct manufacturers to be very interesting. Definitely worth a look if you’re curious about cars, and probably worth several visits if you really want to explore the individual autos.

This place is so amazing! 😁 The man who started this non-profit had 150 classics to begin with 😲. The other 50+ are on loan from all over. There are cars from 1800’s to 2000’s. They all have stories to learn more about the type of car plus history of the car and owners. Plenty of history and lots of famous cars. Great place for young and old!😃
